EU Right of Withdrawal Policy

This EU Right of Withdrawal Policy applies to consumers located in Portugal, Ireland, Italy, and Austria who purchase goods from Alux Carpentry through aluxcarpentry.com. This Policy does not limit any mandatory consumer rights under applicable local EU member state law.

1. Right to Withdraw

If you are a consumer located in Portugal, Ireland, Italy, or Austria, you have the statutory right to withdraw from your online purchase contract within 14 calendar days without giving any reason, in compliance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive.

The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day on which you, or a third party designated by you other than the carrier, receives the goods.

For orders delivered in multiple shipments, the withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day on which you, or a third party designated by you other than the carrier, receives the last item of your order.

If the withdrawal period expires on a non-working day, the deadline is extended until the next working day where applicable under local law.

2. How to Exercise the Right of Withdrawal

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your clear decision to cancel the contract before the withdrawal period expires.

You may exercise this right by using the clearly labeled online withdrawal function named "Exercise EU Right of Withdrawal" available on our website, customer account area, order status page, or return portal where available.

After receiving an electronic withdrawal request, we will confirm receipt on a durable medium, such as E-mail, without undue delay.

4. Effects of Withdrawal

If you withdraw from your purchase, we will reimburse all payments received from you for the returned goods, including the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option offered at the time of purchase where required by applicable EU law.

We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or until you have provided valid evidence that you have sent the goods back, whichever occurs first.

All refunds will be processed using the same payment method used for the original transaction unless you expressly agree to an alternative method in writing.

5. Return of Goods

You must send back the goods without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal request to us.

You are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods unless the return is due to defective, damaged, incorrect, or non-conforming goods, or unless applicable local EU law requires otherwise.

For furniture, oversized items, or freight items, return shipping costs may be substantial. Please contact us before arranging return shipment so that we can provide official return instructions and support.

6. Reduction in Refund for Use or Damage

You are responsible for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to inspect and verify the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods.

All furniture items should be returned unassembled where possible, complete with all original parts, accessories, hardware, manuals, and original packaging to avoid value deduction.

7. Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal

The right of withdrawal may not apply to certain goods under EU law, including goods made to the customer’s custom specifications, personalized goods, sealed goods unsuitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons once unsealed, goods that become inseparably mixed with other items after delivery, and other statutory exceptions permitted by applicable law.

8. Defective or Non-Conforming Goods
